Backend Engineer

Job Description

We were looking for a Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale our core platform services. This role involved architecting RESTful APIs, optimizing database performance, and ensuring high availability across our infrastructure. This position has been filled.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable RESTful APIs and microservices using Node.js and Python
• Optimize PostgreSQL and Redis for performance, reliability, and data integrity at scale
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments with Docker and AWS
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to define API contracts and ensure seamless integration
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents with a focus on uptime and performance

Requirements

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience building production-grade services
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and/or Python with deep understanding of async patterns
• Expert-level PostgreSQL experience including query optimization, indexing, and migrations
• Hands-on experience with Docker, AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda), and infrastructure-as-code
• Solid understanding of API design principles, authentication patterns, and security best practices
